Overview
A dashboard allows you to set up a display of information that users commonly refer to throughout the day. The information is extracted from the database by way of one or more "gauges." The dashboard is accessed by clicking Automation Center > Dashboard from the navigation pane.
Customizing the Dashboard
You can modify the dashboard to display information specific to your installation using this procedure:
- Defining a report.
- Making a gauge from the report
- Adding the gauge to the dashboard.
Defining a Report for the Dashboard
See Reports. You can add any type of report (using the Activity table or any other OpsWise Automation Center table).
Making a Gauge from the Report
See Creating a Gauge from a Report.
Adding the Gauge to the Dashboard
Once you have created the gauge or gauges you want on your dashboard, follow these steps to add them to your dashboard.
- Select Automation Center > Dashboard from the navigation pane. The dashboard displays, as shown in the example below. This dashboard was created using Activity reports that are predefined with OpsWise Automation Center. It provides spaces for six gauges.
- If you want to replace one of the gauges with one of your own, click the change button on the gauge you want to change. The system displays a list of available gauges.
- Highlight the gauge you want to add and click the Select button. The system replaces the old gauge with the new one you selected.
- Repeat the above procedure for any other changes you want to make.
Refreshing Dashboard Data
You can manually refresh the data displayed on your dashboard and set an automatic refresh rate.
Manually Refreshing Dashboard Data
Click Refresh. The system repaints the screen with the latest data.
Setting the Dashboard Refresh Rate
- Click on the down arrow (see above illustration) to display refresh rate options.
- Select the refresh rate you want. Options are: Off, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour.
