Configuring Agent Clusters
From OpsWise Documentation Wiki

Overview
Agent Clusters allow you to configure a cluster of agents and a selection method, which you can then specify in a task. When you specify an Agent Cluster in a task, OpsWise Automation Center selects the best agent from the cluster, based on the selection method specified. If you specify both an agent and an agent cluster in a task, OpsWise Automation Center first attempts to run the task on the agent; if the agent is unavailable, the system selects the best agent from the agent cluster.
Agent Clusters are supported for Windows and Linux/Unix agents. The screens are the same for all platforms.
Creating a New Agent Cluster
The instructions and screens for creating Windows Agent Clusters and Linux/Unix Agent Clusters are the same.
- From the Navigation Pane, select the appropriate Agent Clusters option (Windows or Linux/Unix).
- From the wizard, select New. OpsWise Automation Center displays the appropriate Agent Clusters screen:
- Using the field descriptions provided below as a guide, complete the fields as needed.
- Right-click on the title bar and select Save to save the record and remain on the current display.
- To add agents to this cluster, see Assigning Agents to the Cluster.
- If appropriate, repeat these steps for any additional agent clusters you want to add.
Assigning Agents to the Cluster
- Open the cluster to which you want to assign one or more existing agents.
- Click on the [Type] Agent Cluster Relations tab or scroll down to that section.
- Click the Edit button. The Edit Members form displays:
- The agents listed under Collection are existing agents of the current type that do not already belong to this cluster. The agents listed under Has Agents List are agents that belong to this cluster. You can filter the agents listed under Collection as follows:
- Click Add Filter. See To create a filter for information about how to construct a filter.
- When you have defined the filter you want, click Run Filter. The Collection list now displays only those agents that match the filter.
- To remove filtering, click the minus sign to the left of each condition, then click Run Filter again.
- To add to or remove agents from the Has Agents List:
- To add an agent to the list, double-click on the agent name in the Collection list.
- To remove an agent from the list, double-click on the name in the Has Agents List.
- When you are finished, click Save.
